CMM Technician/Programmer

Coordinat Measuring Machine (CMM) Technician/Programmer

Location: Sparta, Tennessee

Reports to: Quality Engineer


  1. Conduct Annual Validations and Layouts testing in accordance with customer requirements.– Photometry, Microview, Life Testing and such

  2. PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process) preparation and APQP (Advanced Production Quality Planning)/Launch support, including validation – Data collection, Document updates, Material certifications, Sample submission, Drawing review and such

  3. Assist in monitoring and review of New Tooling.process capability data

  4. Support Containment, Root Cause investigation, and Corrective Action validation/verification for process correction/improvement and customer issues

  5. Gauge and other inspection equipment calibration throughout the plant.

  6. Assist in guiding and training production team members regarding product acceptance criteria

  7. Assist in monitoring and managing supplier quality and related issues

  8. Record retention and organization.

  9. Other assignments under the direction of the Quality Manager or Quality Engineer




  1. Responsible for performing dimensional and physical evaluation of parts.

  2. Assisting in determining and validating implementing corrective actions to resolve customer concerns

  3. Assisting in Monitoring Control Plans and assisting with new process tooling trials and validation.documentation

  4. Performing capability studies for PPAP submissions and tooling buy-off

  5. Participating on Continuous Improvement teams.

  6. Support any Quality Department needs related to Customer Satisfaction, TS 16949 Certification, Enhance Production Quality, Improve Scrap Rates, etc.



The applicant must possess,

  1. Thorough knowledge of production processes and must be comfortable in a production environment.
  2. Thorough knowledge in the use of relevant precision measurement equipment
  3. Ability to understand and effectively communicate all elements of assigned work.expected to perform
  4. The ability to understand and utilize relevant computer software – PCDMIS, Excel, Word, AGC (Advanced Gage Control)
  5. Good people skills and be an effective team player in day-to-day interaction with Customers, Suppliers, and Client's co-workers, and outside contractors.


  1. Previous proven experience in operating a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).

  2. Proven ability to read and understand customer and our client's part drawings and specifications.

  3. High School Diploma plus experience in Production and Engineering environments.

  4. Professional training and certification – Quality Technician or equivalent
