Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer


In support of our client, a large steel manufacturer, ResourceTek is seeking a Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineer to join their team near Hartsville, SC.  The right candidate will work relentlessly to help the company achieve its goals and is responsible for the process of improvement and will be the support to allow the functional areas in the company achieve their goals.   This is a direct hire opportunity.

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position is absolutely critical to the implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and concepts throughout the organization. All candidates must meet requirements of the job description and have a proven track record of implementing and sustaining an RCM initiative. Strong knowledge, drive, and ability to create an RCM initiative and the project management skills to implement a corporate-wide RCM initiative while gaining corporate sponsorship and full support is ideal.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead improved reliability of the physical assets/equipment by eliminating failures through development and implementation of proactive maintenance strategies, root cause failure analysis, and identification, development, and implementation of design enhancements and other improved methods.
  • Responsible for the cost effective reliability and failure minimization of all equipment in designated/assigned operating areas. 
  • Investigates and resolves difficult root cause failure analysis to prevent failures. 
  • Assist, coach, and teach less experienced department personnel in complex root cause failure analysis which includes, but is not limited to, the application of Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Advanced root cause analysis (RCA), Statistical Methods and RCM.  
  • Leads and drives optimized equipment maintenance plans (EMP's) with all new equipment installations and modifications.
  • Serve as the Plant RCM Champion.  Provides tactical leadership to 5 RCM workstreams. 
  • Prepares and analyzes diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports of downtime data and provides recommendations for reducing outages. 
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements solutions to downtime situations based on analysis of the manpower/equipment/reliability required to resolve the situation while considering cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, and availability of materials/equipment.
  • Act as a leading resource within the company for development and implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs and systems.
  • Organize and direct workstreams focused on RCM. 
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to others, including peers.
  • Act as a leader and ambassador for the Reliability Centered Maintenance culture of the company.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.  Certifications in Reliability functions preferred.
  • Five or more years of job related experience including 2 or more years in a maintenance reliability leadership role with a proven track record of Reliability Centered Maintenance development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance methodologies, best practices, and systems.
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques and data collection resources.
  • Ability to structure tasks and manage changing priorities.
  • Ability to use sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.
  • Ability to work in a production oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and lead multiple tasks and make appropriate decisions to complete objectives.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze information and provide creative solutions.
  • Quantitative, Statistical, and Analytical skills.
