EHS Coordinator / Safety Leader

In support of our client, an automotive supplier, ResourceTek is seeking an experienced EHS Coordinator - Safety Leader to support their client’s plant in Williamsburg, KY. This is a 5 + month contract opportunity with the client.

Qualified candidates will focus on all activities, tracking and reporting in the areas of EHS programs, training, worker-compensation and job safety analyses for the manufacturing facility. Candidate will report directly to the Plant EHS Manager.

Responsibilities include:


Environmental -

  • Support the Environmental activities as appropriate to include but not limited to surveillance inspections, spill control, permit sampling/recordkeeping/reporting, and permit compliance.

Health -

  • Support the Health functions for the facility (to include hazard communication, industrial hygiene sampling, hearing conservation, SDS management, and respiratory protection).

Safety –

  • Review, recommend, and revise plant written procedures, standards, and reporting requirements regarding Line Driven Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, Hazard Recognition, and ISO14001/Environmental Management System (EMS).

Training –

  • Reviews, recommends, develops, and conducts training programs for Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, Security, and Environmental as required and ensures training records are maintained based on corporate records retention policy.

Continuous Improvement –

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing and waste elimination activities
  • Able to understand KPI’s and support EHS Manager to drive all losses (focusing on Safety) to Zero


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years EHS experience in manufacturing
  • Must have strong technical skills as well as sound communication skills including the ability to work independently and with teams as needed
  • Demonstrated capability of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred
  • Five (5) years of EHS experience in manufacturing
  • Three (3) years of developing Safety training material, plans and calendars
  • Prior experience in automotive manufacturing (including Tier I or Tier II Supplier)
