In support of our client, a leader in the design, manufacture, and supplier to the global transportation industry, we are seeking an experienced Sr. Human Resources Manager near Muscle Shoals, AL. The right candidate will provides HR leadership and consultation to plant leaders and line managers/supervisors on the people-related matters impacting their business.  This is a direct hire with our client.



The primary responsibility is to strengthen and maintain a positive employee-employer relationship through identifying and resolving workplace issues, measuring employee satisfaction and morale, and facilitating the employee and supervisory forums.


The Senior Human Resources Manager adds value by developing and maintaining positive relationships with employees and promoting employee engagement. Ensuring the consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures to support employee retention. Also, this position will lead the process design work within HR to better deliver value to its’ customers, eliminate waste and establish a core value of continuous improvement.



  • Building ongoing relationships with plant leadership, managers/supervisors and shop floor employees.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to managers/supervisors while maintaining a balance of employee advocacy for all others to create a healthy workplace environment.
  • Managing all core HR processes and tools including labor requirements and strategies to reduce employee turnover and improve the employee experience.
  • Advise and consult managers/supervisors on handling employee performance, developmental plans, improvement plans and disciplinary action in a professional and consistent manner.
  • Resolve any workplace conflicts as they arise between management and employees and seek resolution that maximizes positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate the Employee and Supervisor Forums which includes developing and publishing agendas, tracking action items, leading sessions and supporting agreed upon corrective actions.
  • Supporting organizational effectiveness through proper alignment of people, processes, structure, and culture with business strategies;
  • Managing and implementing HR policies and procedures through HR staff to ensure consistency of application and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations;
  • Investigating and resolving employee relations issues; including the investigation of harassment, discrimination, and other charges; managing discipline and discharge functions, and assuming responsibility for the uniform and equitable application of policies across the plant.
  • Develop and implement best practices in employee engagement for all salaried and hourly personnel to minimize turnover and maximize employee retention.



  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


An employee in this position should have the following education/certifications, work experience, and skill set:


Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree (required); candidates with a degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or Business Administration.


Work Experience:  Prefer at least 5 years of relevant and progressive experience (HR business partner and/or management roles) and broad base knowledge in HR with a solid track record for delivering results. Must also have worked for a company with a LEAN culture.

· Demonstrated excellence in communications, problem solving skills and process improvement

· Ability to use independent judgement to solve people and organizational issues

· Demonstrated ability to stay positive and motivated in a growing, challenging and changing environment

· Strong coaching and consulting skills with a track record of quickly gaining credibility and partnering collaboratively with business leaders

· Experience in affecting, executing, and leading change initiatives within an organization; along with strong leadership and teaming capabilities with the ability to operate independently and a track record of delivered results;

· Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction.


To be successful, candidates for the Senior HR Manager must possess a high level of intellectual, professional, and personal agility and flexibility, combined with strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills. They will have the ability to collaborate while at the same time having the initiative to drive for results. They will be highly results-oriented, driven, focused and able to balance multiple priorities and issues in a global environment. At the same time, they must be a team player with a balanced ego and an approachable style.
