K-12 Data Warehouse Analyst

Data Warehouse Analyst Requirements:

• Design, develop and modify enterprise wide and department level data warehousing (ETL)


• Participate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of analytical and

statistical reporting based on both operational and longitudinal data from relevant source

data systems and the MNPS data warehouse,

• Transform data into actionable reports, KPI, metrics and dashboards using SQL Server

Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI and Tableau,

• Interpret business rules and requirements for data validation and end#user reporting in

the MNPS data warehouse system,

• Participate in all design, planning, and implementation activities related to the deployment

and maintenance of the database structure used in the MNPS Data Warehouse solution,

• Develop complex database query, functions and stored procedures as required by user


• Proactively tune queries and databases objects as per best practices after analyzing

execution plans and monitoring tools,

• Develop stored procedures, scripts, and testing tools to fine tune databases and enable

software system testing,

• Participate in database structure enhancements to better support query and reporting


• Ensure that adequate security measures are developed and maintained to protect the

confidentiality of the data,

• Monitors and administers ETL jobs to verify execution and measure performance,

• Understand complex system tools to assist with verification of database integrity and

optimal database performance,

• Create and maintain detailed documentation on reports and ETL processes used in the

MNPS data warehouse solution,

• Participate in end#user training as required.


Data Warehouse Analyst Qualifications:

  • The candidate will be required to work onsite and contribute knowledge and best practices shared with the rest of the Business Intelligence and Enterprise Development teams,
  • The candidate should have extensive knowledge of K12 education data and the typical business metrics used to measure performance at all levels of the district.
  • Including metrics used to measure progress by teachers, schools, and district level performance indicators,
  • The candidate should have the ability to interact with the district executive leadership to
  • understand business requirements and translating the requirements into appropriate data
  • sources and BI models to visualize the data to drive business level decisions.
