Programmer Analyst

In support of our client, a leader in the design and manufacturing of global transportation, we are seeking an experienced Programmer Analyst near Muscle Shoals, AL. The right candidate will analyze technical system needs derived from user requests. This is a direct hire opportunity.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain solutions based on these requirements. Support business systems to ensure processes are being properly executed in all ERP and non-ERP systems. Form a close partnership with internal customers to understand their needs, deliver a comprehensive service offering, and contribute to seamless integration of IT services into the business units.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of systems analysis duties in the development, implementation, and support of information systems.
  • Work with IT Business Analysts and Oracle EBS end users to troubleshoot issues, propose solutions, test, document fix, process change request through appropriate approval hierarchy, and facilitate the successful implementation of solutions.
  • Analyze business initiative system requirements and evaluate how the systems can be adapted to facilitate these needs. Document the functionality and technical requirements. Recommend solutions and appropriate changes to meet their needs.
  • Respond to service requests and problem calls in a timely and courteous manner that meets all SLA requirements.
  • Assist in the development of user guides and manuals for system users. Assist in training users as needed.
  • Participate in system walkthroughs.
  • Design, develop, test and implement system interface programs.
  • Follow established quality control methods and procedures. Ensure that programs or solutions follow through appropriate approval hierarchy and documentation before implementation (e.g. SOX requirements).
  • Test completed programs to ensure they are error free (Quality Control/Quality Testing).
  • Attend training sessions and meetings.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement employee Intranet changes using HTML, CSS, and .NET.
  • Work heavily with manufacturing process and business units to understand business processes and determine how information systems can be best utilized to meet their needs.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • One year of experience in related application development field preferred but not required.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Principles and practices of computer science and information systems
  • Principles and practices of basic computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
  • Basic project management tools and techniques
  • Principles and practices of application program development and software troubleshooting
  • Principles and procedures of quality assurance and security related to computer applications
  • PL/SQL or SQL experience developing queries, functions, packages, and stored procedures (Oracle experience preferred [PL/SQL])
  • Knowledge of the following technologies and/or software: Oracle 10g, SQL Server, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visual Studio, Putty, Unix, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Troubleshoot and maintain software applications; both custom and packaged software

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and prepare appropriate documentation
  • Detect, isolate, and resolve information systems problems
  • Manage internal customer relations and expectations
  • Manage workload to ensure that project deadlines are met
  • Execute and review quality assurance and security procedures for application services
  • Effectively present information and/or respond to inquiries/complaints from business users
  • Contribute to process improvement activities and provide tangible input to such activities.
