Civil Engineer, CapEx Project Management


In partnership with our client, a leading global manufacturer and supplier to the oil and gas industry, we are seeking a Civil Engineer, CapEx Project Management for their Bay City, Texas operations. Client is experiencing rapid growth and undertaking multi-million-dollar capital expansion and improvement projects. This is a direct hire position with this international manufacturer.


In this position, you will join the client's Project Engineering team which is responsible for the management of civil construction projects. This includes managing capital expenditure projects from concept to completion for industrial site work, foundations and vertical construction for new buildings and expansions to existing facilities.

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for all areas of project management including conceptual design, development of scopes of work, specifications, budgeting, scheduling, overseeing quality of construction, commissioning and project closeout.
  • Will lead and supervise capital investment projects ensuring the correct management, coordination and control of resources.
  • Selected candidate will be responsible for administering controls to identify cost and schedule deviations during project execution and perform risk analysis.
  • In addition, candidate will interact with other technical specialists (mechanical, automation, electrical engineering, process engineering, etc) to solve manufacturing / production problems, etc.


Job Requirements

  • The selected candidate will ideally have 5+ years’ experience managing projects in an industrial construction environment, preferably with experience managing projects with multi-million dollar scopes.
  • Previous experience working in engineering companies or similar industries such as manufacturing facilities is required.
  • Experience in design software (such as AutoCAD) as well as Civil or Structural design of is beneficial.
  • BS in Civil, Construction Engineering or related is highly desired. Professional Engineer license is also desired, but not required.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work on various projects at one time and to coordinate with multiple vendors, contractors, engineers, and designers.
  • Ability to oversee budgeting and scheduling and interfacing with plant departments is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill as well as the ability to work with culturally diverse teams is required. Bilingual, Spanish - English capabilities are strongly desired.
