EMG Electrical Maintenance Technician

ResourceTek, a leader in technical support services, is currently seeking a EMG Electrical Maintenance Technician for our client, a manufacturer and supplier of steel products. We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience. This is a direct hire opportunity near Blytheville, AR.


  • Performs electric and electronic advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis and repairs, providing permanent support in emergencies as a technical referent, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.


  • Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
  • Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.
  • Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
  • Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
  • Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy.
  • Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
  • Attend and collaborate in training activities in order to maintain and increase the company knowledge.
  • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
  • Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.

Main activities

  • Inspects, diagnoses and performs advanced electric and electronic repairs, replacements and upgrades
  • Follows up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness.
  • Makes failure analysis, establishing the problems' root causes and taking actions to avoid repetitions.
  • Performs electric and electronic activities such as low voltage panel repairs, PLC programs loading or DC/AC engines speed control
  • Execute maintenance plans
  • Performs programming and adjustments in variable speed drive controls.
  • Intervenes in PLC malfunctioning, spotting software or hardware failures.
  • Interprets electrical drawings.
  • Monitors alarms in PLC cycle
  • Detects abnormalities on sensors, actuators or variable speed drives.
  • Verifies the correct functioning of tools, instruments and accessories checking they fulfill with specifications.
  • Cooperates with the Emergency group on maintenance activities
  • Verifies and ensures the availability of resources and spare parts needed for the execution of programmed tasks.
  • Carries out forklift or radio control overhead crane operation when applicable.
  • Updates information in the maintenance systems and performs maintenance reports.
  • Rotating shifts (2-2-3) every 2 weeks (days to nights)



  • PLC (Allen Bradley is very desirable)
  • AC and DC drives
  • Power semiconductors: Diodes, SCRs, IGBTs, MOSFETs
  • Low voltage circuits
  • Low voltage protections
  • Relay circuits
  • DC and AC motors
  • Brakes in general
  • CNC controls is very desirable
  • Instrumentation: pressure, flow, temperature, level, et cetera switches and transducers
  • Field sensors: inductive, ultra sonic, optical, capacitive, mechanic
  • Process control would be desirable (P, PI, PID, discrete, on-off regulation)


Profile (Minimum requirements)

  • Completed High School or 5 years of experience in the company or entry level exam approved.
