Technical Maintenance Trainer


In support of our client, a tier one automotive supplier, we are searching for a contract Technical Maintenance Trainer experience to join their team on a project located near LaVergne, TN. This is a 3-6 month contract opportunity that could be extended for the right candidate.

Position Description:

Candidate will develop analysis information to rapidly repair equipment by studying operating and repair manuals per local and corporate standards. Acquire failure data and prepares maintenance plans for restoring equipment to operating condition in a minimum amount of time. Must be willing to prepare general diagrams, charts, drawings and spare parts requirements for maintenance planners. Determine cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for timely repairs of processes/equipment. Gather and examine basic maintainability problem data from field studies or database and merges data into well-defined repair techniques, principles and procedures. Work under supervision of engineers, maintenance leaders and receives guidance in the use of standard company procedures for use in maintenance analysis specific to the product/process.

Job Requirements:

  • Responsible for coordinating, planning, developing, implementing and conducting highly skilled technical and federal/state mandated and non-mandated training courses for basic, intermediate and advanced skill levels.
  • This position requires mechanical maintenance expertise.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of technical training for optimal learning for hourly employees to develop technical skills.
  • Work with operations management to identify technical training needs as well as provide technical support to individuals through task training, proper utilization of equipment, improving efficiencies and auditing safe operating practices.
  • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of training modules, workshops, etc. and make changes as needed to improve future results.
  • Recommend and assist in the development of curriculum using instructional design and adult learning principles for various delivery options.
  • Assist with the scheduling, coordinating, and deliverance of technical training modules, workshops, etc.
  • Attend external training to keep up to date with changing technology, techniques, standards, and equipment.
  • Must be highly knowledge in the inspection, use and care of all tools and equipment required to perform generation maintenance and operations.
  • Strong knowledge and experience to provide hands on demonstration and field training.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects.
  • Strong knowledge and experience to influence and coach employees, peers and management.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering preferred, equivalent trade school associate degree, or former maintenance craft background in management
  • High School diploma/GED and 10 years’ experience as a maintenance technician will be considered.
  • CMRP preferred
  • Must have a minimum of three years’ experience as a training instructor in a related field or a minimum of three years of experience as a mechanic in Mechanical Maintenance.
  • Must possess professional written, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Classroom presentations, communication and written skills required.
  • Must have exceptional time management skills.
