Construction Resident Representative


In support of our client, a global automotive manufacturer, ResourceTek is currently seeking a Construction Resident Representative to act in a Site Superintendent or Construction Manager capacity for a large project located in Aiken, SC. This project has an expected duration of 12-18 months with the project starting in December 2018.

Selected candidate will act as Owner’s Representative Construction Manager to manage and monitor the construction progress of Client’s project on-site to ensure that project progresses in accordance with the planned schedule, cost control, quality assurance, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Directly interface with General Contractor and sub-contractors as required
  • Conduct jobsite observations in the areas of safety, environment, quality, and productivity.
  • Write and publish daily reports
  • Study design, construction plan, relevant specifications and perform jobsite inspections as requested.
  • Experience with the design and installation, commissioning, and oversight of both small and large industrial engineering projects.
  • Confirm contractor(s)’ baselines for scope, schedule, and budget for purposes of tracking and reporting are acceptable to accomplish Client’s project goals.
  • Confirm contractor(s) has project standards and procedures for quality assurance, communications, procurement, risk management, resource allocation, and safety program.
  • Ensure utility site preparation requirements are fulfilled prior to the installation of their work.
  • Review critical path items, including fabrication schedule/milestones, lead times, delivery times, construction duration, start-up, punch listing, and commissioning.
  • Monitor construction activities in the field with contractor(s)’ full-time, on-site personnel during the construction period.
  • Monitor construction manpower utilized and ongoing progress for consistency with construction schedule and productivity.
  • Attend jobsite meetings to ensure contractor(s) coordination of subcontractor efforts, resolve problems, and keep track of overall job progress.
  • Monitor contractor(s)’ focus on the project’s safety program in accordance with Client’s, Vendor’s, and contractor(s)’ safety programs.
  • Monitor installation of materials in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
  • Must have good communication skills and a positive work ethic.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of various construction codes & standards including environmental regulations are required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial Construction Management, preferably in an owner's representative role.
  • Experience with Heavy/Industrial/Commercial Construction
  • BS in Construction Management, Engineering (Civil) or related is desired. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
