NDT Level II - HSV

In support of our client, a large steel manufacturer, ResourceTek is seeking an NDT Level II to join their team near Huntsville, AL. This is a direct hire opportunity.



Level II UT operators will perform quality NDT evaluations on material. These evaluations are performed by direction of procedures which reflect customer requirements. After a probationary period, the operator is expected to perform these evaluations independently with little to no supervision, and report findings through computer interfaces. The Level II is expected to ensure the calibration of all NDT and measurement equipment, and will also train lower levels of certified operators on tasks that are comparable to their qualification. The Level II will use forklifts and overhead cranes to position material for evaluation.



  • Assist in the completion of required instrument calibrations and ultrasonic inspection procedures
  • Assist in the completion of required instrument calibrations and ultrasonic inspection procedures and related tasks using a continuous improvement approach aimed at an increase in productivity of personnel and elimination of waste in material and capital, resulting in a consistent, low-cost product delivered on schedule.
  • Instrument tasks include developing knowledge and assisting with the testing, preventative maintenance, repair, modification and the calibration of instrumentation systems for production process equipment.
  • Assist in the performance of ultrasonic instrumentation or systems for ultrasonic production process equipment.
  • Develops knowledge of the analysis of malfunctions and make the necessary repairs or modifications.
  • Assist in the maintenance of records of all calibrations, repairs, and modifications.
  • Ultrasonic inspection tasks include the examination of finished materials, evaluation of ultrasonic search units, and the certification of reference standards.
  • Assist in the certification of reference calibration bars (RCB’s) and develop ability to perform certifications after six (6) months.
  • Obtain and maintain a basic knowledge of ultrasonic inspection techniques, materials, gages, tools and equipment, including the ability to work from drawing, sketches, manuals or procedures to assure compliance to established quality specifications.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.



  • High school diploma or GED always required
  • Associates degree preferred, but not required. 2+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated NDT knowledge.
  • NDT Level II ultrasonic certifications and experience in immersion ultrasonic inspection, including objective evidence and documentation of certification. Must be able to provide proof of certification
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm AND/OR 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
