Office 365 Implementation Specialist / Project Liaison

In support of our client, a local metropolitan government organization, we are seeking an Office 365 Implementation Specialist / Project Liaison to join their IT team in Nashville, TN. This is a contract position with an expected duration of 6 plus months (40 hours per week) with a very strong possibility to go direct with the client at the completion of the contract.

This position will be responsible for overseeing the deployment of key enterprise level projects for the ITS department. These projects include Office 365 deployment to the various government departments and a deployment of a brand new version of Setting goals, managing user expectations and providing basic support for resolving common documented issues are key elements of this position. Researching new issues, possible solutions and creating documentation for those solutions is also key.

Typical duties include:

  • Creates, manages and executes project plans to support ongoing needs of ITS Customer Support Services as it relates to Office 365 and all components thereof i.e. SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, Compliance Suite etc. Coordinates resources, establishes deadlines and assigns responsibilities

  • Provides hands on technical application support throughout application deployment, and provides documented training to hand off application support to Field Services upon completion of the project

  • Communicates effectively with both internal ITS technical staff and our departmental customer’s non-technical staff, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical groups

  • Plans the stages of the project and how each stage affects the business areas

  • Coordinates the project team and/or support team(s)

  • Agreeing to costs, timescales and standards to be met and monitoring these through the project

  • Performs an evaluation of each project stage as it is completed

  • Tracks progress of projects and compiles status reports for senior management.

  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and develops contingency plans

  • Builds working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects

  • Relies on knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals

  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team

  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path

  • Identifies and manages resource allocation and constraints

  • Works with stakeholders to plan the identification, writing and implementing standards, processes and procedures for use within the Customer Support Services section of ITS, including collaboratively identifying, addressing, and documenting gaps in service policies, practices, and procedures

  • Management of team responsible for ITS metric reporting

  • Experienced in in Business Process Modeling sessions, acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator, or subject matter expert

  • Collaborates as part of assigned teams to drive important business strategies to deliver business and web applications i.e.: Office 365, and future assigned enterprise applications, and provides outstanding customer service, streamlines processes, and meets financial goals

  • Coordinates and communicates with multiple areas in ITS and key customers to ensure that customer needs are met within the framework of ITS standards and policies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of project management
  • Experienced with the implementation and/or support of Office 365 at an enterprise level

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Below are preferred experiences, knowledge or skills for the candidate:

  • Prior experience with managing large scale projects or deployments (specifically, but not limited to, Office 365 or corporate/governmental website deployment)

  • Ability to identify solutions to problems and document them.

  • Ability to perform minor user support providing solutions based on prior experience, existing documentation or additional research.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Display and encourage a positive attitude
