Construction Project Manager


In support of our client, a large tier one automotive supplier, ResourceTek is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join their engineering and construction team based out of Nashville, TN.  Candidate will work with a team of engineers, designers, and other project managers to support new multi-million dollar capital expansion construction projects at existing plant sites. This is a direct hire opportunity; our client may consider a temporary-to-direct hire arrangement for the right individual but the ulimate goal is for our client to hire this Construction Project Manager as a direct employee of their company.

Selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and providing project management on industrial construction projects from specification development through final construction. Candidate will have Field and Project Management responsibilities for all types of industrial construction projects, including all phases of Civil, Structural to Mechanical Systems, equipment installation/commisioning and other facility related construction.

Position will provide management to assure compliance with the contract documents in the areas of construction, quality assurance, safe performance, coordination with other trades, and performance of the work in accordance with the project schedule.  Selected Construction Project Manager will be familiar with codes and regulations related to construction activities. Will be in charge of Inspection and monitoring of construction activities for Industrial Expansion Projects as well as coordination with plant operations. 

This position will be based out of Nashville, TN but travel to all job sites, throughout the entire length of the projects will be manditory.  Travel is estimated to be between 75% to 90% of the time and travel allocations will be provided.

 Job Requirements:  

10+ years progressive engineering and construction experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

BS degree in Construction Engineering is preferred but a degree in Mechanical Engineering with requisite experience will be considered. 

Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, line and grade (survey), estimating and engineering principals and techniques.

Maintain Owner, Architect, Subcontractor & Vendor relations. 

Experience with the design and installation, commissioning, and oversight of both small and large industrial engineering projects.

Forecast re-occurring rebuilds and change-outs for strategic budget planning.

Analyze plant equipment condition and make recommendations for upgrades. 

Experience in equipment specification, purchasing equipment, and installing is also highly desired

Work on multiple projects at one time and oversee vendors, contractors, engineers, and designers.

Must have knowledge of general rules, regulations and implementation in regards to design, schedule keeping and safety. 

Must have good communication skills and a positive work ethic.

Candidate must have knowledge of various construction codes & standards including environmental regulations are required.


Software abilities:  

Microsoft suite

Knowledge of MS Project, Prolog Manager and/or Primavera scheduling desirable.

CAD software - Ability to make modification and some design changes highly desired.


Candidates with Construction Project Management experience of Industrial Manufacturing Facilities (specifically Chemical and/or Rubber extrusion processing) are strongly encouraged to apply.
